Cliff Cannon, M.D. is a Savannah man to his core. He was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital and attended Savannah Country Day School from kindergarten through high school graduation. Following extensive training at some of the premier medical schools in the nation, Dr. Cannon is now ready to pursue his lifelong dream: to help the people of Georgia live better lives by applying artistry and meticulous attention to detail as a plastic surgeon.

Dr. Cannon grew up in Savannah and always knew he wanted to be a doctor. He made his first set of hospital “rounds” right here in Savannah with his father (a prominent neurosurgeon for over 30 years). Dr. Cannon was hooked and went on to serve as an orderly in the operating room of St. Joseph’s Hospital during high school. His love for the South, combined with his desire to get the best possible education led him to the University of Georgia. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He later completed a Master of Science in Biology at Georgia Southern University.

Dr. Cannon earned his medical degree from Mercer University. He stayed on there to complete his residency in general surgery in Macon, Georgia and then received and completed a fellowship in Plastic Surgery in New Orleans, Louisiana at Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Cannon believes in giving back to his community. While he was at Tulane University, he was proud to help the people of New Orleans emerge from the ruins of Hurricane Katrina. He has also reached out to the medical community, publishing articles in prestigious medical journals on how to reduce complications in breast augmentations and the key factors in head and neck reconstruction.
